The Wednesbury Young Firefighters Association (YFA) is a uniformed non-profit youth group based at Wednesbury Community Fire Station. Our members are aged 11 to 16 and come from all over Wednesbury and the rest of Sandwell. We meet on Tuesday evenings, 7.00pm till 9.00pm. The activities we do include; > Practical fire service based training using fire service equipment such as hose, ladders, pumps, etc > Learning of how to work as teams and using individual practical skills > Some theory based fire service learning > Fundraising activities > Social events and trips > National & international competitions

Staff qualifications Our instructors are all volunteers, some are firefighters; we are provided training by West Midlands Fire Service and we also seek additional training to make us better youth workers.
