This centre closed on 31 May in preperation for building work to commence on a new leisure centre with swimming pools for Wednesbury. A new swimming pool complex is planned for Wednesbury to replace the old centre’s two pools that were closed following maintenance inspections that put the facilities beyond economic repair.

About the organisation
Has a mission of creating an active Sandwell. Manages 9 leisure centres & 1 golf course. Provides a range of sport & fitness activities including fitness classes, fit'n'well gyms, swimming instruction,children's holiday activities. We have established a subsidary company, Sandwell Arts Trust, to manage The Public in West Bromwich on behalf of Sandwell MBC
