Brushstrokes provides comprehensive support to asylum seekers, helping people navigate the asylum system and meet essential needs while their claims are ongoing. We offer specialist advice on asylum support, housing and immigration, alongside practical help such as food, community activities and health access. Our early‑action approach aims to prevent destitution, reduce isolation and support people to live with dignity while awaiting decisions.

About the organisation
Brushstrokes works with needy and deprived families in Smethwick. It provides clothing to the destitute, ESOL computer classes, parenting courses and there is a creche, but places are limited. Brushstrokes runs a Food bank on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 12 noon to 3 pm. On Friday, it runs a community meal from 12 noon to 2 pm. Foundation management partners: St Philips Roman Catholic Parish, Infant Jesus Sisters, Father Hudson's Society.
