We are pleased to announce ‘Better Mental Health for Smethwick’s Black Community’, funded by Sandwell Council. Through this new service we are able to offer mental health support to individuals from the Black, Black British, Caribbean and Black African community in Smethwick, Oldbury and the surrounding areas. We will provide targeted and community designed activities and services including; coaching and support groups for Black men, 1-to-1 wellbeing support through our existing Listening Ear Service, which provides support in a safe and confidential setting. We are looking for participants for our focus groups to take part in open and frank conversations to share your thoughts on mental health; what is available for the black community, positive and negative experiences, and what the community would like to have available. Further activities will be designed and planned by the advisory group in response to focus groups throughout our community. Please get in touch to find out more, sign up for a focus group and/or book in for a confidential 1 to 1 session with our qualified coach Maddison.
